Secret Rock Garden

Walking along the north side of the rocks at Coquille Point in Bandon, Oregon, during a minus tide is like going into a secret garden.  There are tunnels through the massive cliff, pools in the depressions of the rocks filled with brightly colored sea stars, anemone and other sea creatures and long strands of kelp dangling down the stones and waving in the water as the tide comes and goes.  All this is only exposed during the rare minus tides.  This February’s minus tide happened during an evening allowing the low sun to peek around the cliff and infuse the place with an even more magical quality.
