Giant Green Anemones

One of our fun things to do on the Oregon coast is to go on a beach walk at low tide to observe the tide pool creatures.  It is amazing to stare down into the shallow pools to see these giant green anemones filling out and opening up to catch their food as it drifts by.  They are a dull brownish green when they are shriveled up above the water line and open to a beautiful pastel green under water.  I liked using the pure pigments of my soft pastels to capture the delicate green tentacles and the soft ripples of the water.
