Tide Pool Tunnel

17 Aug

12″ x 18″

I found this tunnel at a minus tide, which is a low tide the goes out further than a normal low tide.  Normally the ocean covers this side of the rocks and it is inaccessible.  The tunnel goes clear through the rock showing the ocean on the other side.  Looking past the pools reflections, there are sea stars and sea anemones.  It was a beautifully eerie place, especially as the mussels made a soft clicking sound all around me.   There is a lot of real stuff going on, yet it comes across as an abstract painting.
